Answer to Question 1.
Q1. I need to reduce my door to suit the opening I have, how much can I take off the door?
On external doors we recommend that no more than 6mm be removed from any given edge. Sometimes door openings are a non standard size e.g. 31 1/2 x 78. We would advise that you purchase an 80" x 32" door and reduce the height rather than the width, as there is more width to the bottom rail than the door stiles.
However removing more than 1" from either the height or width will invalidate the guarantee. On internal doors, we recommend no more than 6mm (3/8 inch) be removed from the sides and top of the door. 6mm can be removed from the bottom. As with the external door, if a greater amount requires removal from the height of a door it should be taken from the bottom rail.
La Porte French Doors & La Porte Vista Folding Doors.
We do not recommend you reduce these doors or frames as this will invalidate any guarantee on this product.
